Welcome to the first lesson for doing your crossdressing makeup. By preparing your skin with a smooth shave and gentle cleanse you will be on a great start to looking wonderful for your full CD experience.
Always start with a clean face. Start by gently washing your skin with you favorite skin cleaner. Skin is delicate, be gentle Using a sponge and water, remove all traces of the cleanser from your skin.
Shaving will leave your skin smooth and sexy in preparation of your makeup. When shaving use of a nourishing shave cream to allow for a smooth shave without any nicks or cuts. Base cover makeup can cause itching if you have and shaving cuts or tiny skin abrasions. Toner gently applied will close the pores of your skin. Allow 30 minutes for your skin to recover before you applying your makeup.
If you have the time now would be a perfect time to enjoy a facial mask to bring out your inner glow. Clay masks can help draw out clogged pores, and tighten your skin for that youthful bright look. A simple ten minute mask makes your skin tight, smooth and ready for your makeup.
Getting your perfect shave
Shaving prepares your skin to ultra smooth for that beautiful easy canvas for your makeup. Shaving right after a hot shower is best because the heat and water hydrates the skin, dilates the blood vessels which open the pores and makes the hair softer and easier to cut. I suggest using a multi-blade razor over an electric razor as they give a much smoother shave.
Always use a quality shaving cream, they are much gentler to the skin and help prepare your skin for the next stages. Some people prefer to use a warm, moist face wrap instead of a shower to prepare their skin.

Generous hot water will keep your blade clean and lather foamy. Get to know your face and the direction your hair grows, this will make a big difference in your skin post shave.
Start your first shave with the grain of your skin, this makes a big difference. By shaving in the direction of the grown, there will be less irritation to your skin. Having done the first shave, reapply the shaving cream and then shave against the hair growth, especially on the neck, chin and under the nose. Go gently on this shave as you don’t want to irritate your skin.
Once finished shaving, rinse your face and neck with cold water to refresh skin and close the pores. Pat your skin dry with a towel, don’t rub as it irritates the skin. Stop any small nicks or cut from bleeding with an alum block. Shaving removes a thin layer of skin, so be sure to use a gentle toner and moisture cream to replenish your skin. Let you skin settle down for 5-10 minutes before moving on to the next part of your makeup application.
Moisturize your skin
Before you start to apply makeup, start with a non-greasy facial moisturizer. This creates a thin layer to keep your skin's natural moisture in. Don’t go overboard; you only need a small amount of cream! Once applied allow it to soak in by waiting a few minutes.
Decide now what type of light you need to apply your makeup. If it's a day time event use natural sunlight, if night use light similar light to the venue. This ensures the look you have when you leave home matches your look when you arrive to the venue.
Next we will look at the application of foundation, you'd be suprised that with a few simple tricks your face will be a work of art.
Till then,
